Terms of Service

Effective date: May 25, 2026

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using Commitr. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Commitr platform, including the website, web application, and any associated services (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Commitr is a fitness accountability platform that allows members of clubs to participate in running challenges by staking in-app credits. Users who complete a challenge's distance target earn payouts from the pooled stakes of participants who did not finish.

Key features of the Service include:

  • Clubs — Invite-only groups that host challenges.
  • Challenges — Time-bound running goals with a required stake and distance target.
  • Credits — In-app currency used to stake on challenges. Credits are purchased via GCash and may be withdrawn back to GCash.
  • Run Verification — Users connect Strava and run eligibility is verified from associated Strava activity data and challenge rules.
  • Strava Integration — Users connect a Strava account so activity data (distance, date, activity type) is used to verify runs automatically.

3. Eligibility and Accounts

To use the Service you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Have a valid Philippine mobile number in the format +63XXXXXXXXXX.
  • Be invited to join a club by an existing club administrator.
  • Provide accurate information, including your legal name, during registration.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. Notify us immediately at dowhilesoftwares@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

4. Credits, Deposits, and Withdrawals

4.1 Credits

Credits are the in-app currency of Commitr. They have no monetary value outside the platform and are not redeemable for cash except via the cashout process described below.

4.2 Deposits

Credits are purchased by transferring Philippine Peso (PHP) to the GCash account displayed in your club's deposit instructions. The exchange rate is 1 credit = ₱1.00. After submitting a payment receipt for review, credits are credited to your account only after a club administrator approves the deposit.

Deposits are final. Commitr does not offer refunds on purchased credits except at the sole discretion of the club administrator in cases of error.

4.3 Stakes and Payouts

When you join a challenge, the required stake is deducted from your credit balance and held until the challenge closes. Participants who reach the distance target receive a pro-rata share of the pool of stakes from non-completers. There is no guaranteed minimum payout.

4.4 Cashouts

You may request a cashout of your available credit balance to a GCash account you specify. Cashouts are subject to a minimum amount set by your club and are processed manually by the club administrator. Processing times vary; Commitr does not guarantee same-day delivery.

5. Run Verification

To log progress toward a challenge, you must connect Strava so Commitr can verify eligible running activities within the challenge window.

  • Distance in kilometres.
  • Date of the run.
  • Associated Strava activity records used as proof.

All verified runs are subject to review by club administrators. Approved runs count toward your challenge total; rejected or flagged runs do not. Providing false, altered, or fraudulent run data is a material breach of these Terms and may result in immediate account suspension and forfeiture of staked credits.

6. Strava Integration

Commitr may offer the ability to connect your Strava account to automatically import running activity data for run verification. By connecting Strava, you authorise Commitr to access:

  • Your Strava athlete profile (name, profile picture) for identification purposes.
  • Your activity data, including activity type, distance, and date, for the sole purpose of verifying challenge runs.

Commitr will not access private Strava activities unless you explicitly set them to public or grant extended access during OAuth authorisation. You may disconnect your Strava account at any time from your account settings, which immediately revokes Commitr's access to new Strava data. Existing approved run records are not deleted upon disconnection.

Where Strava activity data is displayed in the Service, Commitr will display appropriate “Powered by Strava” attribution in accordance with Strava's Brand Guidelines. Raw Strava API data is only displayed to you — the athlete who owns it. Club leaderboards show Commitr's own derived approved-km records, not raw Strava API responses.

Commitr's use of Strava data is governed by the Strava API Agreement. We do not sell, share, or use your Strava data for artificial intelligence, machine learning, analytics, or any purpose other than verifying your individual run activity.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Provide false, edited, or fabricated run data.
  • Create multiple accounts or share accounts with other users.
  • Attempt to circumvent any verification mechanism or admin review process.
  • Use the Service for money laundering, fraud, or any illegal purpose.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the Service.

Violation of any of these prohibitions may result in immediate account termination and, where applicable, forfeiture of any staked credits.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, design, and software of the Service is owned by or licensed to Commitr and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

By connecting Strava and using the Service, you grant Commitr a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store and use eligible Strava activity data solely for run verification.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Commitr does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, accuracy of data, or fitness for a particular purpose.

Commitr is not a financial institution. Credits are not bank deposits, investments, or regulated financial instruments. Participation in challenges involves the risk of losing staked credits if you do not complete the distance target.

Commitr is not responsible for personal injury arising from participation in any running challenge. Running carries inherent physical risk; you accept full responsibility for your own safety and fitness.

Third-party services: The Service integrates with third-party platforms, including Strava. Strava and other third-party providers make no warranties of any kind with respect to the Service. By using Strava-connected features, you also agree to Strava's Terms of Service. Commitr is not affiliated with or endorsed by Strava, Inc.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Commitr and its administrators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of credits, loss of data, or personal injury.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the value of credits held in your account at the time of the claim.

Third-party providers whose services are integrated into Commitr, including Strava, Inc., shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. By using Strava-connected features, you acknowledge that Strava is not a party to these Terms and bears no liability under them.

11. Termination

Commitr reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or for any other reason at our sole discretion. Upon termination, any unstaked credits may be withdrawn via the cashout process at the club administrator's discretion.

You may close your account at any time by contacting us at dowhilesoftwares@gmail.com. Credits actively staked in a challenge at the time of closure are forfeited.

If Commitr's access to the Strava API is revoked or discontinued for any reason, we will: immediately cease accessing Strava data; permanently delete all stored Strava data; and notify affected users that the Strava connection feature is no longer available. Your challenge history and approved run records stored in Commitr's own database are not affected by Strava API termination.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Philippines.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you via your registered phone number or within the app.
