Terms of Service
Effective date: July 22, 2026
Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using Commitr, a virtual run platform. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
Commitr is owned and operated by Do While Software Development Services, Panabo City, Davao del Norte, Philippines. In these Terms, “Commitr”, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to Do While Software Development Services operating the Commitr platform.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Commitr platform, including the website, web application, and any associated services (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Commitr is a virtual run platform. Runners can host or join time-bound distance challenges; participants purchase a challenge pass to enter, sync Strava runs during the challenge window, and may earn Commitr Points (CMP) when challenges finalize.
Key features of the Service include:
- Virtual runs — Hosted challenges with optional passcodes for private entry.
- Challenges — Time-bound km targets linked to a fixed-distance challenge pass.
- Challenge passes — Digital event entries purchased via PayMongo checkout at platform-fixed prices.
- Commitr Points (CMP) — Loyalty rewards that may be earned under Section 4 (including verified progress credits, referrals, and other rules stated there). CMP may discount future passes or be redeemed for Commitr merchandise, fitness vouchers, or other options where available. Eligible users may also cash out CMP as described in Section 4.6.
- Run verification — Connect Strava so activities sync automatically during challenges. Suspicious runs may be auto-flagged and excluded from totals pending review.
- Finisher e-certificates — Completing a challenge issues a personal e-certificate with a public verification page, as described in our Privacy Policy.
3. Eligibility and Accounts
To use the Service you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Sign in with a valid Strava account linked to your Commitr profile.
- Provide accurate information, including your display name, during registration.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. Notify us immediately at support@commitr.run if you suspect unauthorised access.
4. Challenge Passes, Entry Fees, and Commitr Points
4.1 Challenge passes
Challenge passes are digital event entries sold at fixed prices set by Commitr. Payment is collected through PayMongo-hosted checkout (GCash and other methods as enabled). Your pass is activated once PayMongo confirms payment.
4.2 Entry fees and rewards
Challenge pass purchases are final once paid. Commitr does not refund cash to your original payment method.
Once your entry is active, Commitr Points applied as a discount at purchase are not refunded as cash or restored to your CMP balance if you do not complete the challenge.
Separately from any cash payment, you may receive Commitr Points credits based on verified progress as described in Section 4.3, and you may receive pass vouchers as described in Section 4.4.
4.3 Progress CMP credits
A challenge pass is a commercial digital event entry, not a bank deposit or regulated financial instrument. Separately from that purchase, you may receive Commitr Points (CMP) credits based on your own verified distance toward your own challenge target, relative to your own pass value for that challenge (the cash you paid plus any CMP you applied at checkout).
Credits may accrue as eligible runs sync during the challenge window and are reconciled when the challenge finalizes. The amount of any CMP credit never depends on how many other participants finish or fail. Exact credit amounts, any pending states, and timing are as displayed in the Service. Use of CMP is governed by Sections 4.5 and 4.6.
4.4 Pass vouchers
Commitr may issue pass discount vouchers, including host and podium awards, when challenge unlock conditions are met. Eligibility, discount percentage, expiry, and other voucher terms are as shown in the Service at issuance and at checkout. Vouchers are not funded by other participants' unfinished entries.
4.5 Commitr Points (CMP)
CMP are loyalty rewards. They may be redeemed as a discount on eligible challenge pass purchases from the Points page. Additional redemption options, including Commitr merchandise and fitness partner vouchers, may be offered when available. Eligible users may also convert CMP to cash as described in Section 4.6. CMP cannot be transferred to other users.
4.6 CMP cash-out
Eligible users may request to convert CMP to Philippine pesos at a rate of 1 CMP = ₱1, transferred through PayMongo to a supported bank or e-wallet account. Cash-out requires a verified contact email and accurate destination account details; you are responsible for the accuracy of the destination details you provide.
Cash-out requests are subject to a minimum of 150 CMP per request, a maximum of 5,000 CMP per request, a cap of 20,000 CMP in any rolling 30-day period, and one open request at a time. Commitr currently deducts no cash-out fee. If our payment provider introduces transfer fees, we may pass them on and will disclose any fee before you confirm a request.
If a transfer fails, the requested CMP is returned to your balance. Commitr may review, delay, or decline cash-out requests where fraud, abuse, or a violation of these Terms is suspected, and may adjust cash-out limits from time to time.
4.7 Referral rewards
Members receive a personal invite link. When a runner who joins through your invite finishes their first challenge, both of you earn bonus CMP at the rates shown in the app. Referral rewards are capped at 10 finished referrals per referrer in any rolling 90-day period. Self-referrals, duplicate accounts, and manufactured or fraudulent referrals may be voided and any associated CMP reversed.
4.8 Hosting bond
Creating a virtual run locks a hosting bond of 50 CMP from your balance. The bond is returned automatically when your challenge reaches the end of its natural lifecycle. Commitr may retain the bond for challenges removed for violating these Terms.
4.9 Cash-out anti-abuse controls
Until you complete one successful cash-out, every request must be at most 500 CMP and your account must be at least 7 days old. Failed or pending requests do not count as that first success. After one succeeded cash-out, the ordinary per-request and rolling limits in Section 4.6 apply.
Challenge refund CMP may sit in pending credits for about 48 hours before it becomes available to cash out. That delay is not a separate post-finalize account freeze.
5. Run Verification
To log progress toward a challenge, you must connect Strava. Eligible runs sync automatically during the challenge window. Suspicious activities may be auto-flagged using stored audit metrics.
- Distance in kilometres and date of the run.
- Strava activity title, start time, moving and elapsed duration, pace and speed metrics, per-kilometre split summaries, elevation gain, recording device, activity flags (manual entry, indoor or trainer, and Strava-flagged), and a yes/no indicator of whether the activity includes heart-rate data.
- Associated Strava activity records used as proof (Commitr does not store GPS route data).
Flagged or rejected runs do not count toward your challenge total. Providing false, altered, or fraudulent run data is a material breach of these Terms and may result in immediate account suspension and forfeiture of your challenge entry fee.
6. Strava Integration
Commitr may offer the ability to connect your Strava account to automatically import running activity data for run verification. By connecting Strava, you authorise Commitr to access:
- Your Strava athlete profile (name, profile picture) for identification purposes.
- Your activity data, including activity type, distance, date and time, activity title, moving and elapsed duration, pace and speed metrics, per-kilometre split summaries, elevation gain, recording device, activity flags, and a yes/no indicator of whether the activity includes heart-rate data, for the sole purpose of verifying challenge runs and detecting suspicious activity.
Because Commitr requests Strava's activity read scopes, including extended activity access, private Strava runs may be available to Commitr after you authorise the connection. Commitr uses only the activity fields described in these Terms for run verification. You may revoke Commitr's Strava access at any time from Strava's connected-app settings, which prevents Commitr from receiving new Strava data. Upon revocation, Commitr deletes the Strava-derived details stored on your runs; your kilometre totals, run dates, and challenge results remain for challenge integrity and financial accountability.
Where Strava activity data is displayed in the Service, Commitr will display appropriate “Powered by Strava” attribution in accordance with Strava's Brand Guidelines. You see your own run data; other participants see Commitr's derived approved-km records on leaderboards, not raw Strava API responses or GPS route maps.
Commitr's use of Strava data is governed by the Strava API Agreement. We do not use Strava data for artificial intelligence, machine learning, analytics, customer profiling, or any purpose other than verifying your individual run activity. We do not sell, license, or transfer raw Strava data to third parties except service providers needed to operate the Service.
7. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Provide false, edited, or fabricated run data.
- Create multiple accounts or share accounts with other users.
- Attempt to circumvent any verification mechanism or admin review process.
- Use the Service for money laundering, fraud, or any illegal purpose.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
Violation of any of these prohibitions may result in immediate account termination and, where applicable, forfeiture of your challenge entry fee.
8. Intellectual Property
All content, branding, design, and software of the Service is owned by or licensed to Commitr and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.
By connecting Strava and using the Service, you grant Commitr a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store and use eligible Strava activity data solely for run verification.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Commitr does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, accuracy of data, or fitness for a particular purpose.
Commitr is not a bank, e-money issuer, or financial institution. Challenge passes are digital event entries, not bank deposits or regulated financial instruments. Commitr Points are loyalty rewards. Challenge pass purchases are non-refundable as cash to your original payment method; any CMP credits follow Section 4.3. Cash-out transfers under Section 4.6 are executed by our payment provider, PayMongo.
Commitr is not a gambling, betting, wagering, or lottery service, and nothing on the Service is a game of chance. Whether you earn CMP credits is determined by your own verified athletic performance against the distance target you chose, within the challenge window. No outcome is decided by chance, random draw, or luck. The size of any CMP credit does not depend on other participants' success or failure.
Commitr is not responsible for personal injury arising from participation in any running challenge. Running carries inherent physical risk; you accept full responsibility for your own safety and fitness.
Third-party services:The Service integrates with third-party platforms, including Strava. Strava and other third-party providers make no warranties of any kind with respect to the Service. By using Strava-connected features, you also agree to Strava's Terms of Service. Commitr is not affiliated with or endorsed by Strava, Inc.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Commitr and its administrators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of entry fees, loss of data, or personal injury.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the total cash entry fees you paid to Commitr in the twelve months before the claim.
Third-party providers whose services are integrated into Commitr, including Strava, Inc., shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. By using Strava-connected features, you acknowledge that Strava is not a party to these Terms and bears no liability under them.
11. Termination
Commitr reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or for any other reason at our sole discretion. Upon termination, any unused Commitr Points may be forfeited at Commitr's discretion.
You may close your account at any time by contacting us at support@commitr.run. Active challenge entries at the time of closure remain subject to challenge rules and forfeiture terms.
If Commitr's access to the Strava API is revoked or discontinued for any reason, we will: immediately cease accessing Strava data; delete stored Strava connection tokens and any raw or unprocessed Strava data; and notify affected users that the Strava connection feature is no longer available. Your challenge history and approved or reviewed run records stored in Commitr's own database are not affected by Strava API termination.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Philippines.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you within the app or through available account contact channels.
